Being bold and modest at the same time is tricky, but Parquet Courts did just that Saturday night at the Black Cat. The Texas-rotted Brooklyn-based alt-rock quartet played an energetic yet easygoing 65-minute set for a sold-out crowd that seemed pleased if not transported. When the band declined to play an encore, the room cleared quickly. Only a few loyalists waited near the stage, cheering for a reappearance that wasn't on the set list.
